Retail Volunteer (St James's Hospital - Bexley wing)

We are recruiting new volunteers for our wonderful Bexley store!

This role is located in the heart of the Bexley wing surrounded by patients, staff and visitors. The store is a hub for all to visit, browse and purchase gifts and essential items.

We are looking for new volunteers to be a friendly face of Leeds Hospitals Charity. It would be great if you could volunteer one shift a week (or even more if you want) but we're always happy to be flexible to work around your availability.

• Time commitment: a minimum of one shift (3 hours) a week, where possible - Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoons 1pm - 4pm,(although you can do more!)

We are also looking to recruit volunteers who have flexible availability and would be happy to offer ad-hoc cover for sickness and holidays Monday-Friday.

• Supervision: In this role you will be working alongside another volunteer at all times, but generally there will not be staff supervision within the shop – you will at all times have access to staff support via the telephone. It is therefore important that you are able to volunteer independently without staff supervision.

• Checks required: this role is subject to a self-disclosure form, as part of our safeguarding procedures – please see attached Statement on Recruitment of Ex-Offenders and the Risk Assessment for this role. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a volunteer and we will support you through this process. This role also requires reference(s) covering a three-year period.
