Van Driver Volunteer (Retail)

We are looking for a Van Driver Volunteer to support our growing retail function. We're recruiting volunteers who are experienced and confident in driving vans (small and large) to support us in transporting donated items across Leeds. These donated items will then be sold in our retail stores generating funds for Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

If you are a confident driver, looking to give time to a charity that supports our local NHS, this could be the role for you!

Volunteers required: we're currently looking for 1 volunteer to join our team on a Monday.

Time commitment: we're looking for a volunteer with availability on a Monday to volunteer alongside one of our existing drivers. Timings are flexible and can be discussed, but between normal working hours of 9am-5pm. We're looking for a weekly commitment where possible.

Criteria and checks required:

• drivers must be 25 or older with a minimum of 2 years’ driving experience for insurance purposes
• drivers must have a clean licence and be willing to provide a check code so that we can run an online check
• drivers must have experience of driving a transit van
• this role is not subject to a DBS check, but we will need to ask you about any unspent convictions as part of our safeguarding procedures – please see attached Statement on Recruitment of Ex-Offenders and the Risk Assessment for this role. We will send you full details on how to disclose at the informal interview stage. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a volunteer and we will support you through this process.
