Events Volunteer (7 Locks MND Walk - The Rob Burrow MND Appeal)

Inspired by Kevin Sinfield's mantra on his epic 7in7 challenge, "go for a run with a mate, for a mate".

No mountains to climb, no marathons to run. Just a gentle stroll down the canal supporting people living with MND, families who have lost someone and supporters of The Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal.

When: Saturday 16th September (11:30am-6pm)

Where: Out & back walk from Kirkstall Forge, Leeds, LS5 3BF to Granary Wharf

Why?: Inspired by Rugby League Legend Rob, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019, we are building a £6.8m state-of-the-art MND Care Centre, to give people with MND and their families the best possible care and support.

By taking part in this event, you will be helping to create The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which will see all MND services housed under one roof for the first time.

What does the role involve?

• Supporting the walkers throughout the walk, chatting & being a friendly face of Leeds Hospitals Charity.

• Having fun and meeting new people. There will be a celebration with food & live music as we finish together.

• Lining the route to ensure walkers are heading in the right direction! Alerting a member of staff in the event of an emergency
